2005-Present - Songer and Associates – Legal Nurse Consultant: LNC Independent Contractor. Review and analysis of medical records for medical-legal cases, RN Testifying Expert.
2005-Present - Community Medical Centers – Peer Review: Chart review and Summarization, report design, data collection, and analysis, working directly with medical staff on privileging criteria, conversion of privileging criteria into ICD-9 and CPT codes for reporting purposes.
2003-2004 - Community Medical Centers – Quality Management: Maintenance of JCAHO Core Measure Data, reporting to Directors, clinical staff, and Medical Directors. Education of clinical and Medical staff on care initiatives within the hospital system including design, and creation of poster presentations, Power Point presentations, and one on one conversations with MD. Working with clinical staff on improving clinical care, including research of problems identified, data collection, analysis, reporting, including the collection of time-motion studies for Six Sigma analysis. Analysis of contracts and payment. Preparation and analysis of clinical data for insurance companies. Crisis support of Case Management department.
2000-2003 - Community Medical Centers – Case Management: Clinical review of all patients on telemetry for medical necessity, discharge needs, and placement into nursing homes, home health and acute rehabilitation. Providing clinical information to insurance companies regarding medical necessity and discharge needs. Coordination of care of patients with MDs. Patient population included: Post-operative Open Heart; Chest Pain; Acute Myocardial Infarction; Medical Telemetry; Heart disturbances: Bradycardia, SVT, etc.; New pacemakers; Interventional cardiology; ICU step down.
1999-2000 - Community Medical Centers – Intensive Care Unit: Staff nurse. Clinical care of critically ill patients.
1997-1999 - Bryan Memorial Hospital (Bryan LGH) – Progressive Care Unit: Staff nurse. Care of critically ill patients, including patients requiring support on Ventricular Assist Devices, and Biventricular Assist Devices awaiting heart transplant. Other populations cared for: s/p Open Heart including recovery of Off pump cases; Acute Myocardial Infarction; Interventional Cardiology; Pacemakers; Heart Rhythm disturbances: SVT, Bradycardia, etc.; pre-transplant patients requiring vasoactive drip maintenance.
